It's been nearly a month since my last update, sorry about that. Had a lot of coursework to get finished by deadlines, etc... Also, I have got a new laptop which meant putting everything on it again, such a long process. I have added a few new photos to my Flickr but will be putting some more up very soon!

Haven't written one of these for a while... but today I met up with dspickett again to take a few more pictures and take advantage of the lovely weather. We went to Gosmore (I think) and ended up on the way to Codicote. Wasn't meant to be a long morning, but I was using my new lens which I haven't really used properly yet cause of work and the poor English weather. Will be uploading them to my Flickr soon. It's been nearly a month since my last update, sorry about that. Had a lot of coursework to get finished by deadlines, etc... Tonight there was a big moon, I think a technical term for it is 'Supermoon'. To you and I it is when the moon looks really big because it is closer to the Earth, or something along those lines. I attempted to take some pictures with it using my 18-105mm lens, but the results were poor to say the least. Using autofocus, my camera wouldn't focus so I had to use manual - that didn't bother me too much because I quite like using manual focus, it gives more freedom. Anyway, once I looked at the photos after I found that there was too much light pollution in the pictures, which really didn't add anything to it, although it did look quite cool to see random blurred colours in the photo, it wasn't what I wanted to achieve. I needed to be in a large field away from any light sources, but instead I was in my back garden with a tripod extended fully. All in all, it wasn't great - but I learnt something.

Yesterday it was my 18th Birthday and I got a lovely new camera, a Nikon D90. I am very pleased with it so far and it is a big step up from my old camera. For a start it is an actual DSLR, which gives me much more freedom for my photography. It came with a nice big lens, 18-105mm which I had already bought a UV filter for, in preparation. But first things first, I need to start to work out how to use it, very thick manual and a load of buttons. All I need now is a new bag and gonna look at buying a macro lens for it.
Also another update with the progression of dspickett's photos, as I said in my previous update (below), I have finished editing them and now they are being uploaded to his new and improved website - www.dspickett.co.uk.

Finished editing the DSPickett photoshoot pictures. Because of the bad weather that day, there were quite a few shots which weren't good enough to use. The main reasons were because rain had fallen on my lens and blurred the photo or everything in the picture just looked too wet. This is a real shame, because some of those pictures would have been brilliant.

Hopefully when the weather gets nicer we will go out and do some more, I am basically saying, hurry up summer!

It is indeed that very time again, time to edit some of yesterday's pictures. I won't be putting them all up until I have successfully completed them, although I have put one sneaky little one up on my Flickr Photostream. Also have started to edit some of my older photo's which I have found hanging around on my hard-drive taking up space, these are also on my Flickr.

Today I met up with dspickett, a musician from Hitchin. We went to a field in Hitchin, as it was local and did a photoshoot for his new website and EP. I was hoping to get some shots with bright blue skies, but with the typical English weather, it rained. It all still went to plan and I got quite a few shots which I am very pleased with. I will be putting them up very shortly and you will also be able to find them his site - www.dspickett.co.uk.
